Situated at an altitude of 2455 meters, the Jakhu temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, who was the most faithful aide of Lord Rama. The temple is situated amid dense forests at high altitude and the journey can be exhausting. The Jakhu hill is the highest peak around Shimla, and is famous for trekking. And it also offers excellent views of sunrise, sunset, mountains and town. The hill is full of narrow paths and roads which are good for enjoyable walks.
