The cluster of textile mills in and around Coimbatore has earned for it the name as the ‘Textile Capital of South’ or the ‘Manchester of South India’. Situated on the banks of river Noyyal, it is one of the busiest industrial cities in Tamilnadu. It is the third largest city in the state and serves as an entry and exit point to the neighbouring states of Kerala and Karnataka.
